Like the planting of a seed that grows, the DEI Committee seeks to germinate a sense of belonging at CSCS. The DEI Committee includes staff, parents/guardians, and community members who strive to increase inclusion and equitable outcomes. The role of the DEI Committee is to maintain the CSCS Equity Work Plan, monitor progress of goals within the plan, and continue to seek out areas for improvement to ensure our school, teachers, students, staff, and administration reflect the diversity of our larger community.
If you are interested in joining the DEI Committee, please complete the interest form and a committee member will follow up with you.
The DEI Committee meets monthly, usually on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm. Meetings are currently taking place in-person at the school with an online option via Zoom.

Thank you to all those who joined the May DEI Mixer co-hosted by the DEI Committee and Board. We want to be sure that everyone has access to the materials and hope you will check out some of the links below.
We shared the Equity Lens and Work Plan that includes goals and areas of investment that support students, teachers, staff, and families. These materials are also posted on the website so that you can find them and review them at any time. Visit the DEI page to view the Equity Lens and Work Plan.
One part of the Work Plan that has already started is the creation of Affinity Groups for students. Want to learn more? This short video discusses the value of Affinity Groups in schools: https://youtu.be/CbQdrMp4QuE
The Mixer was a great opportunity to talk together as a community about the ways racism shows up in schools and engage with each other about ways we can take action. Please watch this video about what communities can do to dismantle racism in their community: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tifJElYkuYI
